RUNNING WITH THE BEARS™, BEAR GROWL GRAVEL GRINDER GO VIRTUAL IN 2020

Greenville, California – August 3, 2020  Mountain Circle Family Services announces their 10th anniversary edition of Running with the Bears™ and the 3rd annual Bear Growl Gravel Grinder will go virtual with a combined event for 2020.

The event will be held on September 19, 2020 with this year’s lineup including a family-friendly 5K For Foster. Registration is open!

Supporting families in the Sierra Nevada region since 1986, Mountain Circle Family Services encourages athletes to change a child’s life one runner and cyclist at a time. As in years past, 100 percent of proceeds will support the essential services provided by the organization.  This year’s theme is Run. Ride. Let’s Do Good Together.

Now more than ever, getting outside to run, bike and train with a personal goal is keeping individuals, couples and families active and healthy.  Each participant in Running with the Bears will pick their goal distance – 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon. If riding in the Bear Growl Gravel Grinder, options include 30, 50, 70 mile categories, on the road or gravel.

This year’s virtual event entry fee is $35.00 with the additional opportunity to become a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Pinnacle VIP Charity Runner or Cyclist and receive various inspirational pieces from foster children, local artisans as well as product gift bags.

“In an effort to keep our community and all participants safe during these challenging times, we made the difficult, yet mindful decision to offer a combined virtual event for 2020, said Dr. Shauna Rossington, executive director of Mountain Circle Family Services.

“Simply draw a start line in the ground wherever you are as both events can now be raced from any location you choose. You get to do your own race, at your own pace, with family and friends and time it yourself. We are planning some exciting pre-race training and race day moments for our virtual community to enjoy.  While it may not be the same as running together on our signature courses in Greenville, CA we can all still achieve our personal run/ride goals and support the needs of foster children and our community,” added Rossington.

An interactive platform for all participants for the 2020 edition will include prize giveaways, training tracking, race day leaderboards, celebrity running guests with exclusive zoom events, and a virtual opportunity drawing for exciting prizes for athletes and families.
